The garden tub problem

Bathroom remodeling in McKinney often starts with the same room: a primary bath built in the 1990s or 2000s with a big corner garden tub nobody uses, a small fiberglass or framed-glass shower beside it, builder vanities and cracked tile. We take that apart, waterproof properly, and build the bathroom you actually use, usually a larger walk-in tile shower with frameless glass, updated vanities and lighting, and new floor tile. Our team includes licensed plumbers, so moving drains and valves is part of the same job. Call (972) 439-9694 for an estimate, backed by our one-year written workmanship guarantee.

Waterproofing is where shower remodels succeed or fail. We use a sloped pan and a waterproofing membrane on the walls before any tile goes up, set the valve and niche locations with you, and leave the right movement joints at corners and changes of plane, which matters on slab homes that shift a little with the clay soil. Secondary and hall baths get the same treatment at a smaller scale: tub surrounds retiled, vanities replaced, and fixtures and mirrors updated.

Our remodeling services include bathroom remodels, bathroom projects and upgrades, kitchen remodels, porch and patio projects and home renovations.

What we do

Bathroom projects we take on

01

Tub-to-shower conversions

Unused garden tubs removed and replaced with larger walk-in showers, benches and niches.

02

Tile showers

Showers built on a waterproofed pan and walls with subway, marble-look, travertine or large-format tile.

03

Frameless glass

Frameless and semi-frameless glass doors and panels measured after the tile is set.

04

Vanities and tops

Vanities replaced, double vanities added, new tops, sinks, faucets, mirrors and light bars.

05

Tub surrounds

Hall bath tubs retiled or refinished, with new valves and fixtures where needed.

06

Floors

Patterned or large-format tile floors laid over a prepared slab.

Waterproofing first, tile second

Tile and grout are not waterproof by themselves. The membrane behind them is what keeps water out of the walls and slab. On every shower we build, the pan is sloped to the drain, walls are covered with a waterproofing membrane, and niches and benches are sealed at every seam before tile goes on. Leaks from older showers are one of the most common reasons we end up replacing drywall and framing, so this step is never skipped.

Tile, vanities, fixtures, glass and paint go in, and the room is cleaned up.

Cost

What affects the cost of a bathroom remodel

01

Moving plumbing

Keeping the drain and valve where they are costs less than relocating them.

02

Shower size and tile

Larger showers, benches, niches and patterned tile add material and labor.

03

Glass

Frameless glass costs more than framed doors or a curtain.

04

Vanities and fixtures

Fixture and vanity choices vary widely in price.

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace my garden tub with a walk-in shower?
Yes. Tub-to-shower conversions are one of our most common bathroom projects in Collin County homes.
Do you have licensed plumbers?
Yes. Our team includes licensed plumbers, so drains, valves and supply lines can be moved as part of the remodel.
How do you waterproof a shower?
We slope the pan to the drain and cover the pan and walls with a waterproofing membrane, sealing niches and benches at every seam, before any tile goes on.
Do you install frameless glass?
Yes. Glass is measured after tile is set and installed once the shower is finished.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Smaller updates can take a few days. Full remodels can take several weeks depending on scope. Your estimate includes a timeline.
Can you just replace a vanity?
Yes. We replace vanities, tops, faucets, mirrors and lighting as standalone projects too.
Can you add grab bars while you are remodeling?
Yes. Blocking for grab bars is easy to add while the walls are open.
Is bathroom remodeling covered by your guarantee?
Yes. Our workmanship is guaranteed in writing for one year from the invoice date. If a defect in our work appears in that time, we repair it free of charge under the terms of your agreement.
